Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation

The mission of the Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation is to promote the long-term viability and increase awareness and appreciation of agriculture and farming in Hawai‘i through research, education, training, partnerships and public outreach.  HAF program priorities include technical assistance and educational outreach for farmers, “Ag in the Classroom,” branding, public awareness, promoting sustainability and food security.  Its current projects include:

Kunia Agricultural Park, an initiative to make a 182 acre parcel of land available to new farmers while providing them technical assistance; “Ag in the Classroom,” a school and agricultural based program in Maui County serving more than 1,000 students; and the Hawai‘i Food & Wine Festival, Hawai‘i’s largest agricultural, culinary and tourism event showcasing the State’s agricultural produce and products.
 

 

Culinary Institute of the Pacific

The Culinary Institute of the Pacific is a collaborative initiative of six foodservice training programs within the University of Hawai‘i Community College system on the four major islands.  The vision is to establish an advanced culinary campus that will benefit students from Hawai‘i and the world who wish to hone their culinary skills and receive their Third-year professional training certificate in restaurants and business management at the Diamond Head facility.  Working in partnership with University of Hawai‘i - West Oahu, students will have the resources to gain their Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Management.
 

 
 

Leeward Community College

The Culinary Arts Program at Leeward Community College is a two-year, Associate in Applied Science Degree program. Students prepare for a culinary career with a fusion of hands-on experiences and theoretical instruction, while developing the skills and confidence essential for a wide range of culinary careers. Leeward's Culinary Arts Program offers hands-on practice, restaurant management and educational coursework. Professional chef instructors who have trained all over the world share their passion for food and the culinary arts. Students are exposed to time-honored classical European and Asian techniques, as well as local and contemporary flavors.

The program curriculum requires 67 credits of coursework and includes courses in fundamentals of cooking and baking, contemporary and ethnic cuisines, dining room operations and supervision, garde manger, special events, and an industry internship.

Over $6 million has been invested in program facilities including the fine dining restaurant The Pearl, which recently won an 'Ilima Award-- the first for a community college restaurant. The program facilities are designed to give students an opportunity to apply theories and techniques of industry in a realistic and practical environment. The program is fully accredited by the American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission.
 

 

Paepae o He‘eia

Paepae o He‘eia is a private non-profit organization dedicated to caring for He'eia Fishpond – an ancient Hawaiian fishpond located in He'eia, Ko'olaupoko, O'ahu. Established by a group of young Hawaiians, Paepae o He'eia works in partnership with landowner Kamehameha Schools, to manage and maintain He'eia Fishpond for the community.  The vision is to perpetuate a foundation of cultural sustainability for communities of Hawai'i through education.  Its mission is to implement values and concepts from the model of a traditional fishpond to provide physical, intellectual and spiritual sustenance for our community.
 


 

Papahana Kuaola

The mission of Papahana Kuaola is to create quality educational programs focused on Hawai‘i’s cultural and natural history, environmental restoration and economic sustainability that are fully integrated with Hawaiian knowledge in order to exemplify a lifestyle of kanakaaina and akua.

Hawai‘i Culinary Education Foundation

Supporting Culinary Education.  The Hawaii Culinary Education Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit, is dedicated to the development and support of culinary training programs throughout the state of Hawai’i.  The Foundation provides financial and professional resources towards activities that enhance the scope of learning by culinary students and professionals.

Maui Culinary Academy

The Maui Culinary Academy is an American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation “Exemplary” and fully accredited program offering a wide variety of “hands on” instruction in classes that prepare and enhance culinary student’s career skills and employment capabilities in Maui’s thriving culinary industry. 

The spirit of “Aloha” thrives in what we accomplish with a diversity of culinary students who come from many ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Given this rich mixture, creating a sense of place, unity and community continues to be one of the most important aspects of our teaching atmosphere and a key ingredient in our Maui Culinary Academy student’s educational and career success. 

Maui County Farm Bureau

Maui County Farm Bureau is a grassroots 501(c)(5) organization of farms and ranch families, agricultural industries, and associated organizations dedicated to supporting agriculture in Maui County. Maui County Farm Bureau is a general agricultural advocacy organization representing our commercial farmers and ranchers of all types to ensure their viability and long term sustainability.  Maui County Farm Bureau is affiliated with both the statewide Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation and the American Farm Bureau.
