Lappert’s Hawaii started in 1983 with a single batch freezer and hoping to make great ice cream to sell in Hanapepe. This quickly evolved into two batch freezers and selling ice cream throughout the Hawaiian islands. Lappert’s Hawaii has maintained the same standards throughout, including making each tub of ice cream by hand, layering with macadamia nuts from Hawaii, Kauai banana’s, cookies and brownies from our bakery using butter, fresh eggs and Guittard chocolates.
In 1985 Lappert’s Hawaii began micro-roasting artisanal coffees, including several Hawaiian coffees. And what’s a gourmet cup of Kona coffee without a delectable cinnamon roll to go with it? Together many favorite family recipes were tested and now Lappert’s Hawaii’s mouth-watering bakery goodies are becoming as popular as our signature coffees and gourmet ice cream.
Everything is made fresh daily in small batches right in Hanapepe, Kauai and are available only in Hawaii. The finest ingredients, whether in ice cream, coffee, bakery goodies, or the new line of organic flavors and authentic Italian-style gelato are used, including making from scratch the brownies and chocolate covered shortbread in the Big Island inspiration or the white chocolate covered macadamia nuts in the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut ice cream.
