David Low is one of the three winemaker-owners of Anthill Farms Winery, a small Pinot Noir-focused winery in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. Anthill Farms makes primarily single-vineyard Pinots from a wide variety of sources throughout the Sonoma Coast and Mendocino County with a laserlike focus on responsible farming, site expression, and exceptional purity of flavor. Currently, the winery bottles eight single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, a pair of appellation wines, and a tiny amount of Chardonnay and Syrah.
David, a Kansas native, started his winemaking career as a temporary job in Healdsburg, working for Williams-Selyem and Papapietro Perry wineries, He started Anthill Farms in 2004 with his two partners, Anthony Filiberti and Webster Marquez, making a handful of barrels in a converted barn in the Russian River Valley, The three have chosen to grow the winery very slowly and steadily since then, always working to lease or farm the vineyards themselves and eschewing quantity for quality. All three men reside with their families in Sonoma County.
