Matt Reynvaan

Reynvaan Family Vineyards - Walla Walla, WA


Matt began his winemaking career in 2004, as a student in the Walla Walla Valley Community College Enology & Viticulture program. Early on, he worked harvest at L’Ecole No 41 and in the cellar of K Vintners in the Walla Walla Valley before joining his parents to start Reynvaan Family Vineyards in 2005.

Matt worked with consultant Christophe Baron to prepare and plant the famed “In the Rocks” vineyard in Milton-Freewater, and later the “Foothills in the Sun” vineyard in Walla Walla. He worked crush at Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte in Bordeaux, France in 2006, and began harvesting his own estate grown grapes in the Walla Walla Valley in 2007. In 2011, Wine & Spirits Magazine named him one of 30 under 30 “Top New Talent in the Wine World.”  In 2013, Matt also earned the #11 spot on the Wine Spectator’s top 100 list for his 2010 Stonessence Syrah.

Matt and the RFV team continue to create wines that fans and critics alike consider to be some of the most exciting and unique wines coming out of the state of Washington and beyond.
